Review
Devet is a free puzzle game with an original concept, where the main objective is to place as many pieces as possible on the board. The game field consists of a 5 x 5 grid, that we have to fill by placing the pieces available. Pieces come in a variety of shapes and have 2, 3, or 4 sides, one of which has to match the side of an existing piece on the board. New pieces can be placed on the grid as long as they can touch at least one side of an existing element, and for each new piece placed, we are going to receive points. It means that the game ends when no more pieces can be placed on the grid. As the idea is to place the biggest amount of pieces possible, we have to think carefully and use our strategy to calculate the most appropriate move.
The game is quite entertaining and on the whole it can be a really good pastime. However, it lacks some basic features as a high ranks window, that would have made it possible to compete with friends, or some essential controls like undo the last move, for example.
The game interface is straightforward, with basic graphics and colors, plus a catchy tune playing along. To sum up, Devet is a simple game, easy to understand and quite absorbing, that will appeal to those who like smart puzzles and mental challenges. |
